- About us
|Welcome to Soar Valley Music Centre. We are a charity which aims to bring training in music and media to everyone and anyone. We work mainly, but not exclusively, with young people.
Over the years Soar Valley Music Centre has trained thousands of young people from all backgrounds and given them a route into the industry.
The charity now offers projects and courses for all kinds of people from those coming from a youth offending background, to young people at risk, young people with barriers to learning, those who don’t go to school or are at risk of exclusion, as well as talented young musicians seeking dynamic and specialised support.
This is achieved through the wide range of provision available at Soar Valley Music Centre ...
Many thanks to all the young people who turned out on a cold November Sunday morning arriving at St James the Greater Church on London Road for a 9.00am start to play for the Remembrance Service. We received grateful thanks from the vicar and members of the congregation who all appreciated the contemplative music which gave them space to remember those who give their lives for their country.
In keeping with our motto 'Music for Everyone' Soar Valley Music Centre is pleased to announce a new class for young children. The Kindermusik classes introduce young children to music through a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Classes involve singing and vocal development, movement to music, reading and writing simple music notation, focused listening where children learn to listen to music and identify a range of orchestral instruments and will gain an awareness of different styles of music, exploring and playing musical instruments.
For those of you who missed out on seeing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat you had better book your diary for the first week of July 2014. Soar Valley Music Centre's Musical Theatre performances are worthy of a grander stage, the young people ages from 7 years upwards manage to produce an exceptional performance every year and this year was no exception.
