Welcome to Soar Valley Music Centre. We are a charity which aims to bring training in music and media to everyone and anyone. We work mainly, but not exclusively, with young people.
Over the years Soar Valley Music Centre has trained thousands of young people from all backgrounds and given them a route into the industry. The charity now offers projects and courses for all kinds of people from those coming from a youth offending background, to young people at risk, young people with barriers to learning, those who don’t go to school or are at risk of exclusion, as well as talented young musicians seeking dynamic and specialised support. We have two very exciting things happening at Music centre this week! There is the first full rehearsal of Jekyll & Hyde on Tuesday, and on Saturday we have a Music Workshop Day!
Following our successful production of Les Misérables last year, we will be doing Jekyll & Hyde this year. Audition packs are available now, so if any of you were sitting in the audience of Les Misérables wishing you were on the stage, now is your chance! Auditions will be held on Tuesday 26th January.
We are open as usual at the moment - but please keep checking back for activities later in the week. The latest information can be found right here on the website or on the charity answer-phone which is on 0116-266-4153.
We hope you all had a relaxing Christmas and New Year.
Fulltime courses, instrumental tuition and Choir restart tonight, and both Orchestras will be resuming this Thursday (7th).
Hopefully the weather won't prevent anyone getting here, and here's to a productive new year!
